November 2013 Suomi-koulu

In November we learned about Christmas in Finland: What happens on Christmas eve, about traditional foods and other customs. But what interested students the most were Santa’s elves. We learned about many different types of elves that live in Finland and all around the word. At craft time, the students created some adorable little pine cone creatures, most resembling home-elves (kotitonttu). Everyone will have an opportunity to take one home at the Christmas party on December 15th.
