Finland 100 Centenary

FASDV celebrated the 100th anniversary of the Independence of Finland at the American Swedish Historical Museum in Philadelphia on December 9, 2017.

The popular brass band Ameriikan Poijat from Minneapolis MN entertained the members and friends of FASDV. Antti Vänskä, Deputy Chief of Mission at the Finnish Embassy in Washington, D.C. gave an interesting and uplifting speech about Finland’s past, present and future. Aimo Tuomi, one of the founding members of FASDV, received the FASDV Award of Recognition along with a check for $200 in celebration of the FASDV 40th Anniversary.
