Spring Fest

$20 – $25As the spring approaches, we are excited to invite you to celebrate Easter at the Gloria Dei Old Swedes Church and Assembly Hall (916 S Swanson St., 19147 Philadelphia) on Sunday April the 14th starting at 2pm with Easter Service, followed by Easter Egg Hunt, and culminating with a comedy show by Miska Kajanus, Finlandia Foundation National’s performer of the year 2024.
Gloria Dei is the oldest brick building in Philadelphia, the oldest church in Pennsylvania, and one of the oldest congregations in continuous existence in the US. Fest Schedule:
- 2pm The Spring Fest will begin with an Easter Service held by pastor Tiina Talvitie (in English and Finnish) at the church.
- 3pm We will have an Easter Egg Hunt for children, followed by traditional Easter Luncheon (lamb, roasted vegetables and potatoes etc.) in the Assembly Hall next to the church.
- 5pm The highlight of the Fest will be a comedy show by the Finnish-American actor, musician, comedian and filmmaker Miska Kajanus, who currently lives in Los Angeles, CA and is Finlandia Foundation National’s Performer of the Year 2024. Performer of the Year – Finlandia Foundation National
Tickets for this festive day are $20/person, $25/non-members, which include the luncheon and comedy show (children under 12 free). If you plan to attend, you can pay via PayPal or by sending a check, payable to FASDV, to our President Marja Kaisla (590 Hansell Rd., 19096 Wynnewood PA).
